Electric train electronics repair
Diagnostics and repair of electronic control units for electric trains and RA-1, RA-2 diesel railcars on certified BoardMaster equipment.
What we repair
VOITH motor control units
TEMIC control units
Electric train generator boards
RA-1 and RA-2 railcar power blocks
Sensor protection circuits
Control panels built on outdated components
Repair examples
Typical cases from our practice, without naming a specific customer.
Connector burnout from condensation
Problem: After a season in service, a VOITH motor control unit showed condensation traces and connector corrosion - the train was losing traction on certain sections.
Solution: We disassembled the unit, cleaned and restored the damaged traces and contacts, and installed a cabinet dehumidifier for prevention. The unit went back to the depot with confirmed functionality.
Control unit burnout from a sensor fault
Problem: A sensor failure burned out an RA-2 control unit - the original circuit had no electronic sensor protection, so the train could not continue on its own.
Solution: We restored the damaged unit on BoardMaster and upgraded the circuit with sensor protection that lowers the risk of a repeat failure the next time a sensor fails.
Discontinued TEMIC board
Problem: The docking connector on a TEMIC unit lost its seal, moisture got in, and part of the component base failed - a new board from the supplier would have meant months of waiting.
Solution: We pinpointed the fault at the component level on BoardMaster and restored the board without replacing the whole unit, avoiding the long wait for a discontinued model.
How the repair works
From intake to return to service, in six clear steps.
Equipment intake
We receive the equipment at the workshop or arrange transportation from anywhere in Russia.
BoardMaster diagnostics
We pinpoint the fault at the component level on certified BoardMaster equipment.
Approval
We confirm the cost and timeline and start work once you approve it.
Repair and soldering
We restore the damaged part: soldering, BGA/SMD reballing, component replacement.
Testing
We test the repaired unit under load and confirm it works.
Handover
We hand over the finished equipment or arrange return shipping.
Why repair, not replacement
A fraction of a new board's cost
Repairing the specific damaged part costs far less than a new VOITH or TEMIC unit.
No waiting on the manufacturer
Some RA-1 and RA-2 unit models are already discontinued - repair gets the train back in service without a factory shipment wait.
Component-level diagnostics
BoardMaster pinpoints the fault precisely - we replace the damaged part, not the entire board.
Protection upgrades along the way
During repair we offer extra surge and sensor-failure protection, lowering the chance of a repeat visit.
